We’ve been developing UV disinfection devices for nearly a decade. After seeing a TV report in 2011 that the average smartphone was contaminated with fecal matter and other harmful bacteria, we began testing the surfaces of smartphones amidst cancer research and other studies while working towards our undergrad degrees. When we discovered that the TV report had been accurate in its claims, we set out to find a solution.
